There's A Huge Night Of Action Ahead In The National League

By Sam Elliott

We've got a Tuesday night treat in store - a near full programme of National League football!

There’s 22 teams in action and 33 points up for grabs. There’s a huge evening around the corner at both ends of the table.

Leyton Orient are back on top of the pile and they’re desperate to stay there.

With two Saturdays on FA Trophy action ahead of them, this makes their trip to Aldershot Town tonight even more important.

With seven points now separating the Shots from safety, they cannot afford to drop points either.

Despite defeat in London on Saturday, Wrexham remain in second but are back at home where they have been so strong lately.

But Barrow manager Ian Evatt claims his club create more chances than anyone else in the National League - can they throw a spanner in the works?

Solihull Moors vs Gateshead brings so much significance. The Moors must bounce back from their defeat at Salford City, while the Ammies have the night off.

AFC Fylde manager Dave Challinor says the title is still within reach - but only just.

He knows his team have to win at home to Hartlepool United, who arrive on the back of a great comeback against Dover Athletic.

Eastleigh can’t quite believe it. They’ve won six from seven but those ahead of them have been ruthless and Ben Strevens’ side sit outside the top seven. Can that change tonight? They’re at home to Maidstone United who ended their winless run on Saturday.

They beat Havant & Waterlooville who now face a critical two home matches, starting tonight against Dagenham & Redbridge.

Also down the bottom, Dover manager Andy Hessenthaler needs to make sure his side show no ill-effects of throwing away the points at Hartlepool by winning at home to Boreham Wood.

Braintree are all-but down, they go to Sutton United with manager Danny Searle demanding they play with more pride.

Barnet still need points and Darren Currie knows they must to beat FC Halifax Town to raise confidence again and possibly pull away.

Bromley welcome Chesterfield, while in-form Maidenhead United are now looking for a top half finish. Alan Devonshire takes his team to Ebbsfleet United.
