The Magic Of The Cup! Our Preview Of Tonight's Action

By Tom Scott

No fewer than seven of our sides are in FA Cup action tonight looking to avoid potential banana skins and progress to the next round.

Alfreton Town manager Billy Heath said it would be Sutton Coldfield who would be ‘battling for their lives’ ahead of their first encounter.

But when the Reds found themselves two goals down at half-time on Saturday, Heath’s men had to produce a fighting performance of their own – clawing back the deficit to force a replay.

Facing each other for the third time this season already, Brackley and Nuneaton Borough do battle again at Liberty Way.

The Saints’ manager Kevin Wilkin said he wants his side to ‘give a better account of ourselves’ as they try to replicate their win over Borough earlier this season in the league.

Only an own goal in the dying seconds from Matt Bower stopped Weston-super-Mare progressing at the first time of asking against Salisbury City.

City forced a replay against the ten men of the Seagulls on Saturday – with star striker Jamie Lucas between the sticks for most of the game.

Slough Town made headlines ahead of their first encounter with Sholing Town after ‘that’ tweet.

The Rebels let a two-goal lead slip in a performance their joint managers described as ‘uncharacteristic’. They travel to Hampshire looking to right their wrongs this evening.

After a six-goal thriller in their first tie, Blyth Spartans will be looking to make the most of home advantage against Nantwich Town.

Alun Armstrong’s men came from behind twice against the Evo-Stik side to set up tonight’s encounter at Croft Park.

Chippenham Town are also in action. After a 2-2 draw in their first leg against Swindon Supermarine, the Bluebirds get to do it all again.

We also have one other game that isn't a replay. Hungerford Town will replay their tie with Wantage after the original fixture was abandoned in the second-half.

Town goalkeeper Jokull Andresson was taken to hospital after an collision left him needing 30 minutes of treatment before the referee decided the game should be replayed.
