Super Signing For Solihull As Champion Hancox Heads Home

Mitch Hancox says signing for Solihull Moors feels like coming home.

Born in the town, the former Macclesfield Town defender and midfielder is Tim Flowers’ first summer signing.

He was a National League champion with the Silkmen a year ago - and he hoped more glory could be on its way.

Moors finished as runners up last season but were defeated by AFC Fylde in the play-offs.

Hancox signs a two year deal with his hometown team and after taking Macc up he sees no reason why Solihull can’t go the same way.

As soon as I heard of the interest, it was brilliant,” he told the club’s official website.

“I’m a local lad, from the area and when it came about, I was like ‘yeah this is perfect’. I couldn’t turn it down.

“The whole ambition of the club is really attractive and everything’s going in the right way. I’m just glad that I’m a part of that now.

“Being a local boy in Solihull, being born here I’d like to think that here in Solihull we can do things our own way and go one step further than last season.”
