Stones Suffer Sobering National League Week

Maidstone United have had better weeks this season.

On Tuesday night they were beaten 4-0 at home by Boreham Wood and things didn't get any better yesterday.

Jay Saunders' side went down by the same scoreline at Tranmere Rovers - watch match highlights here.

A brace from James Norwood and one each from Andy Cook and Oliver Norburn piled on the misery for the visitors.

"As crazy as it sounds, for large parts of the game I was actually quite pleased with our performance," said Saunders. "Goals change games.

"We've given two at the start of the game and when you come to a place like this, you're always up against it.

"We had some great chances but they took them when they came. That's the difference. We weren't good enough in both boxes."
