Stones Defence Already Looking Strong Says Still

Maidstone United have completed the capture of England C defender Luke Pennell.

The Dagenham man, 23, will officially link up with the club when his contract expires on July 1.

Stones chief John Still thinks the Stones defence will be strong next season.

They have already signed experienced George Elokobi, Gavin Hoyte and goalkeeper Jake Cole.

Some solid signings have given fans hope that their stay in the National League South may only be a one-year one.

Still said of the signing: “The signing of Luke is one I am glad to get done.

“He is a player with experience in the Football League, National League and with England C and is somebody I know well, having brought him to Dagenham three years ago.

“Our defence is really starting to take shape now with Luke joining Noah Chesmain, Lewis Knight, George Elokobi and Gavin Hoyte in the squad for the upcoming season.”
