Sports Get An FA Cup Warning From Carshalton

Eastbourne Borough be warned - Carshalton Athletic aren't just coming to Priory Lane for a day out by the seaside.

The Bostik South club fancy their chances of taking the scalp of the Vanarama National League South Sports in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Why? Because Carshalton are unbeaten this season, playing quick paced football and have players with higher level experience.

The Robins manager Peter Adeniyi knows his side aren't favourites to process..

But having a 3G pitch of their own, the Londoners won't have any problems adapting to Borough's surface.

"Eastbourne are two leagues higher than we are so it will show the level we are at and if we have progressed over the past few months," the manager said.

"We want to enjoy the occasion but we aren't just going down to have a day trip. It will be a great test for us.

"These type of games are about giving the best account of yourself as possible and seeing what happens on the day.

"We don't lack confidence. We have four wins and a draw from our first five league games and we have won in the cup - why can't we cause an upset?"

Eastbourne boss Jamie Howell won't be taking them lightly.

"They are so near the top of their league for a reason and they'll be given every bit of respect they are due," said the Sports manager.
