Spireites Are Moving In Right Direction Insists Allen

Martin Allen insists his Chesterfield side are improving as they search for a first win in 16 games.

The Spireites are on a six game draw streak and face Havant and Waterlooville at the Proact Stadium on Saturday.

And despite their winless run, manager Martin Allen insisted that the club weren't far off that elusive win.

“We’ve been improving on the attacking front,” he told the club's website. "With our phases of play, trying to use our front players first, after that taking good care of the ball and having some good passages of play.

“It’s been progress since that game away to Maidstone. We went direct with zero tolerance of moving sideways or backwards passes.

"We got a good result down there and slowly but surely we’re building on that and we’re improving.

“The game against Billericay, I know it was a draw, but I hope the supporters saw enough from that to see some encouragement for the future and here we go for the next home game. It's got to come from the players."
