Spennymoor's Orrell Wants To Help Club Keep Momentum

Spennymoor Town's new signing Jake Orrell says he wants to play a role in helping the club continue their progression.

The forward became the sixth signing of the season for the new Vanarama National League North side and joins Ryan Hall, David Foley, Jordan Porter, Chris Chantler and Matty Dixon in being a new recruit at the club, writes Tom Feaheny.

The Moors have gained three promotions in the last four seasons and find themselves playing at this level for the first time in the club's history.

Orrell started his youth career at Sunderland and would eventually move to Gateshead where he made six appearances. The 19 year old also earned a professional contract at Chesterfield, before moving to Hartlepool last season.

When looking at the move he has just made, Orrell told the club's website: “I’m really excited for the season ahead. The few training sessions I’ve had already have shown me that it’s a very well-run, professional football club with a great bunch of lads and quality coaching staff.

“It’s a club that will keep progressing over the years and hopefully I can play a part in that this season.”

The Moors get their pre-season campaign underway with a trip to Ebac Northern League Division Two club Billingham Town on Saturday afternoon.
