Slough Are Up To Seventh As Baker Hails His Rebels

Slough Town are proving they are more than comfortable at National League South level.

The Southern League play-off winners have made an encouraging start since winning promotion.

Today they lost captain Mark Nisbet to a tenth minute red card but still managed to go on to beat Eastbourne Borough 4-2 away from home.

Joint manager Neil Baker hailed his players’ commitment levels after their fifth win from ten matches on the south coast.

“The lads showed unbelievable character,” he wrote on twitter. “To go down to ten men so early at 0-0 and come away from a club who are fourth with a 4-2 win is up there with one of our best results.

“We were clinical and professional and now we’re up to seventh.”

Jon Underwood, Baker’s co-boss, added: “We were unbelievable against the odds. I can’t praise the players enough.”
