Second Friday Signing By Coasters

By Steve Whitney

AFC Fylde have followed up the signing of Wigan Athletic`s Luke Burke with the arrival of full-back Jordan Richards.

The 24-year-old has a wealth of Football League experience and joins the Coasters after a short spell with National League North side Darlington FC.

Richards came through the ranks at Hartlepool United before turning professional and went on to make close on sixty appearances in League One and Two.

Manager Dave Challinor has been keen to bring in competition for the full-back positions and is looking forward to seeing more of Richards.

Challinor told the club`s website: “Jordan spent time with Hartlepool in the League and went on loan to Alfreton at the end of last season, so he has experience across the board.

“He has done really well in training and in a couple development games for us but I want to have a closer look at him now.

“We will try to arrange another game for the middle of next week and have a proper look at him. He provides another good option in the full-back position so we are very pleased to add him to the squad”.
