Redshaw: Salford Are The Sides They All Want To Beat!

Salford City star Jack Redshaw has already seen for himself that his new club are the ones everyone wants to beat.

The Ammies are undefeated in the Vanarama National League North since their opening day defeat to Darlington.

But they go into this weekend's match with Gainsborough Trinity after falling "very short" in the FA Cup against York City.

Redshaw, who signed this summer from Rochdale, has already found the net five times and his performance has helped lift the club to joint top of the division.

He says he has taken next to no time to bed in because of the bond that has already been created.

"Yes it can take a while to get comfortable but I think I've settled really quickly - that's because of the lads we have here, it's a really close group and that certainly helps any player settle," he said.

"It's great to play for a club with huge ambitions, everybody knows where Salford want to be and for me it's exciting to be part of it. I think the pressure is on us every game to keep performing well but it certainly helps when you've got such a quality squad with strength in all areas."

With high profile owners and intentions to reach the EFL before long, all the sides want to take Salford's scalp.

"Everybody raises there game when they play Salford - it's the team everybody wants to beat," confirmed Redshaw.

"But I see that as a good thing because we know we can't take our guard down at any time.

"This weekend really can't come quick enough for us because obviously everyone's disappointed going out of the FA Cup."

Take away that limo exit to York and you remember just what good form the Ammies are actually in when it comes down to their bread and butter and playing for points.

"We want to get back on track and back to winning ways and focus on our impressive league form," the striker said.

"We have won our last three and eight in the National League North overall - we need to keep that up."
