Preview: Saturday's National League South Action

By Tom Scott

It might be FA Trophy weekend for some but elsewhere there's some serious league business for others.

We're just past the halfway point in the National League South and the table is taking shape.

It's the relegation battle that catches the eye this week as the fight for survival is taken up a notch.

As games go, Hungerford Town could do their survival hopes wonders if they can overcome Gloucester City.

The Crusaders know a win could see them with a six point cushion from the bottom three.

One side out to spoil to party however will be East Thurrock United who travel to Bath City knowing a defeat could put them in the myre.

At the opposite end of the table, Dartford and St Albans face off with both knowing a win could do wonders for their respective play-off aspirations.

Concord Rangers are in inspired form and entertain a Wealdstone side who have just one win in their last seven outings.

Dean Brennan admitted his relief at finally ending Billericay's winless run last weekend. The Essex-based club welcome Chippenham Town to the AGP Arena this time out.

Dulwich Hamlet have the short hop to the Beveree Stadium to face an out-of-sorts Hampton & Richmond Borough.

Just two losses in their last eight games is a run that has catapulted Chelmsford City into the upper end of the league.

A trip to Slough Town won't be the easiest away day as the Rebels look to respond to their winless run.

Weston-super-Mare have taken all their wins on the road this season, an omen they hope will rear it's head again at Eastbourne Borough.

Saturday's National League South fixtures:
Bath City v East Thurrock United
Billericay Town v Chippenham Town
