Owers: That Win Was For Our Fans

Torquay United boss Gary Owers says their 3-0 win against Leyton Orient was as much for the supporters as the players.

Back to back wins were confirmed for the Gulls with Josh McQuoid, Luke Young and Jamie Reid getting them the goals during this win, match highlights here writes Tom Feaheny.

“I’m pleased for the supporters more than anything to be honest, they’ve endured some difficult results at home recently and I feel that they’re still behind us, they’ll go away happy," Owers told the club's website.

“I thought we could have done better in the first half and if I’m honest one or two really good chances went begging again, so there’s always room for improvement and that’s apparent still if you look at the league table.”

Torquay moved up to 22nd in the table, with Owers wanting them to build on their recent momentum.

“I’ve said to the players, let’s try and get out of trouble now. We don’t want to be going into spring in this position and the season from December to April always seem to go very quickly.”
