Owers Moves To Strengthen Torquay Squad

New Torquay United manager Gary Owers has moved quickly to strengthen his squad.

Owers has announced the loan signing of defender Callum Evans.

Evans joins on a three-month loan deal from SkyBet League Two side Forest Green Rovers and he is available for selection for the match against Barrow AFC tomorrow.

Evans joined Forest Green in May 2017 from Championship side Barnsley.

He also has experience of playing in the National League from a loan spell with Macclesfield Town.

United have also signed experienced winger Jennison Myrie-Williams on a non-contract deal, which has also gone through in time for him to be eligible for the long trip to Cumbria.

A former England Youth international, Myrie-Williams (pictured) left League Two Newport County in the summer but lists a number of Football League clubs in an impressive CV.

His career began with Bristol City and a sequence of loan stints preceded a move to Dundee United and St Johnstone in Scotland.

He returned to English football with Stevenage in 2011 and then spent two seasons at Port Vale before moving to Scunthorpe, Sligo Rovers in Ireland and then Newport.
