Off Colour Town Aren't Worrying Weaver Just Yet

Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver won’t be panicking despite seeing his side knocked off top spot.

Town’s six-game winning run in the National League North came to an end at Tamworth on Saturday.

Weaver’s men were forced to settle for a point and that allowed Salford City to leapfrog them back into top spot after their victory over Spennymoor Town.

Harrogate trail the Ammies by two points but Weaver is confident his side will get back to their best next Saturday.

“There are nine games to go and there a lot of points to play for,” Weaver told BBC Radio York.

“We won’t get downbeat just because we got one point away from home rather than the three that we were aiming for.

“We have to better and we’ll be vying to be much better next week. We underachieved and I’ve been brutally honest with the players.

“We are only two points and with our goal difference we’ll be hoping that stands us in good stead at the end of the season.”
