Nunn for Daggers

Dagenham & Redbridge have announced the signing of defender Ben Nunn from league rivals Boreham Wood on a two-year deal.

The 27-year-old right-back made thirty-eight appearances for Boreham Wood in the 2016/17 season, getting himself one assist.

Nunn started his professional career at Boston United in League Two where he made his first senior appearance as a 17-year-old against Hereford United in April 2007 in a 3-0 defeat.

Following Boston’s double relegation to the Conference (National League) North, Nunn joined then-Conference Premier side Rushden & Diamonds on a scholarship deal, making his only appearance in a 3-0 defeat to Grays Athletic before his release in the summer 2008.

Following a successful trial, Nunn then joined Cambridge City in August 2008 making thirty appearances, but after a year at Cambridge he then went to Conference South side Bishop’s Stortford in 2009 making seventeen appearances, making the move to fellow Conference South side Chelmsford City where he would make sixty-four appearances over two seasons.

Nunn left Chelmsford in May 2012 after the club were unable to pay the players wages from March 2012 and in July of that year, he joined Boreham Wood after impressing in a trial period and has made 151 appearances for across five seasons, scoring 3 goals
