Now Long-Serving McManus Leaves FC Halifax

FC Halifax Town have confirmed that defender Scott McManus has left the Vanarama National League club after eight years at The Shay.

McManus, who was originally on the books at Crewe Alexandra, was the club’s longest-serving current player, having joined in 2011 from FC United of Manchester.

After arriving as a central defender, McManus soon made the successful switch over to the left-hand side of defence and has made the position his own.

The Manchester-born defender scored in the Buildbase FA Trophy Final at Wembley with a stunning strike from outside the area which turned out to be the winning goal and sent the 10,000-strong Halifax support into raptures.
