Now Hearn`s Loaned to Barrow

By Steve Whitney

Well-travelled striker Liam Hearn has joined Barrow AFC on loan....

...until the New Year from Vanarama National League rivals Lincoln City.

Hearn joined the Imps on an initial one-year contract having turned down a new deal with Mansfield Town.

Liam began his career in the Central Midlands League with Santos FC before becoming a regular goalscorer for Hucknall Town. Moving on to Eastwood Town, Chasetown and Quorn, Liam blasted in a staggering 67 goals for Bulwell outfit Scots Grey in 2007/08, prompting interest from Alfreton Town boss Nicky Law who took him to the Impact Arena in 2008.

After netting 40 goals in his first two seasons with Alfreton Town, plus earning a cap for England C, his impressive tally of 31 from thirty-eight appearances in all competitions during 2010/11 saw him secure a move to Grimsby Town.

His form in front of goal continued during his first campaign at Blundell Park, with the Nottingham-born striker racking up 25 goals in all competitions by January before finishing the season with 29 goals in fifty-one appearances, scooping the Mariners' supporters' player of the year award in the process.

He left Grimsby by mutual consent in March 2014 before linking up with Mansfield.

Hearn, who has scored 8 goals from seventeen appearances for City so far this season, links up with his former Mansfield boss Paul Cox, who this week took over the reins at Holker Street following the departure of Darren Edmonson.

Hearn will be with Barrow until January 4th 2016. However, permission has not been granted for him to play in the FA Trophy, whilst he will also be unable to play against City for the Bluebirds in the match at Sincil Bank on Saturday, December 19th.
