Now Archer Is Added To Bignot`s Chester Squad

By Steve Whitney

Following the signing of defender Jordan Gough earlier today, new Chester FC boss Marcus Bignot has announced the arrival of striker Jordan Archer from Evo-Stik League Premier side Stourbridge.

As announced earlier today, Gough joins from National League North side AFC Telford United, and he has been joined at the Swansway Chester Stadium by the powerful Walsall-based forward who started out in the Chasetown youth set-up.

He subsequently gained experience with spells at Cradley Town, Tipton and Tividale before moving to Redditch United in the summer of 2015.

But he didn't really settle at the Valley Stadium though and in late September 2015 he moved on to Bedworth United.

And he really found his feet with the Greenbacks and a productive second half of the season saw him end the campaign amongst the leading goalscorers in the Southern Premier Division with 19 goals, despite Bedworth being relegated at the end of the season.

He was a summer target of Stourbridge boss Gary Hackett's, but he opted to stay put at Bedworth at that stage. However, a few months on, the Stourbridge boss got his man.

The highly-rated 24-year-old had interest from National League level – as well as a trial at Walsall back in August – and has now taken the decision to join Marcus Bignot’s Blues.

Archer, who stand 6`3” and has already registered 9 league goals for the Glassboys this season, has signed a deal at the Swansway until 2019.
