Non-League Day Cycle Marathon To Aid Poole's ACL Striker's Op

After losing top scorer Marvin Brooks to Emirates FA Cup opponents Salisbury in the summer, Poole Town's star striker Luke Roberts sustained an injury to his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) in a pre-season friendly against neighbours Weymouth.

The effects have been devastating for Roberts and have clearly influenced early season form for Poole.

Roberts is a likeable player, attending every match. He has even turned cameraman when the regular videographer was unavailable.

This season is over for Roberts but in an effort for him to regain fitness in time for next season, Mav, a member of the Dolphins' Commercial department will cycle from Poole's Black Gold Stadium to opponents Oxford City's Stadium on `Non-League Day`.

For the sixth consecutive season, `Non-League Day` falls on a day when Poole are away but this initiative means the club can take part in a meaningful way. Luke's operation will cost £8,000 and a Crowd-Funding page has been set up with the aim of raising at least £3,000 towards the cost and any help, no matter how small is appreciated.
