No Bromley Minds On Wembley With Play-Offs Possible

Bromley minds aren’t on Wembley - and that attitude could keep them in the play-off hunt.

The club’s manager Neil Smith has lavished praise on the FA Trophy finalists and it’s not hard to see why.

Their 3-0 win at Sutton United on Monday shocked everyone - and raised a smile or two at Macclesfield’s Moss Rose.

Smith knows his side are still outsiders to finish in the top seven but refuses to give up hope of a double at the National Stadium.

Bromley face Gateshead at home on Saturday and are currently sitting six points shy of AFC Fylde, who occupy the final promotion place.

They have games in hand though and that means the manager, whose team beat the Heed over two legs to make it to the FA Trophy final against Brackley, are still in with a shout.

“We have got seven games to go and we are still in with a chance,” he said.

“We will have to win a fair number but we will keep on going until we mathematically can’t reach the play-offs. The lads have been fantastic and there's always belief here. The spirit is great.

“There’s been no lack of focus, and there’s no minds elsewhere. We know we have a big day to look forward to but the players have been so professional and credit to them.

“I talk about mental strength and that’s so important. We have good players being kept out of the side and those who are in the starting line up and impressing.

“If we can win at the weekend against Gateshead then in makes things interesting.”
