New Boss Sheridan Savours Defender's Deadly Shots Double

John Sheridan won his first National League game in charge of Chesterfield and says it’s given the players the belief they can get out of trouble.

In a battle of two sides in the bottom four, they won 2-0 at Aldershot Town with Will Evans at the double against his former club.

It wasn’t enough to take them out of the drop zone but just a second win since mid-August has given the club’s players the faith that they will win their fight.

He told the club’s official website: “I want us to go out, believe in ourselves and believe we can get out of the situation we are in.

“I believe strongly and that’s why I’ve come. We need to keep us in this division and win games as quickly as possible to make life easier for us.

“It’s my first league game but hopefully this gives us a bit of confidence.

"I don’t think we played great but we got the goal and it just gives you that belief. We were very solid second half and Will has put away his chances well.”
