Morrell Brings In Several New Lambs

Defenders Regan Upton, Sam Coulson and Shaun Rowley head the list of the latest new arrivals at The GST Gas Services Stadium, as Tamworth manager Andy Morrell's squad go....

....through final preparations ahead of tomorrow`s home Vanerama National League North season opener with Bradford Park Avenue.

Upton (pictured) has recently been released by SkyBet Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers, who purchased the now 20-year-old from Midlands neighbours Burton Albion at the age of 16.

He impressed during the Lambs final pre-season fixture against Aston Villa, and agreed terms over the weekend.

He is in contention to make his competitive debut tomorrow, and will compete with the like of Luke Jones, Jack Lane, and Louis Ezewele for a place.

Coulson is another defensive player with a strong pedigree. Having spent his formative years at Manchester City, he moved to Stoke City to complete his apprenticeship, representing England at youth level during this time.

Unfortunately, injury then struck, and he was advised to retire from full-time football on medical grounds.

He is now looking to play on a part-time basis at the best level possible.

Goalkeeper Shaun Rowley has joined Tamworth on loan from League One side Shrewsbury Town until January.

Rowley signed a new one-year deal in the summer after spending time on-loan with the Lambs` league rivals Chorley and Evo-Stik League South Premier outfit Slough Town last season.

Shaun suffered a knee injury earlier in pre-season, but has now fully recovered and willjoin up with ex-Town Assistant Manager and current Tamworth boss Andy Morrell.

In addition to Upton and Coulson, exciting young winger Dexter Walters has also registered for Tamworth.

Walters is a product of Evo-Stik South club Romulus` academy, and also represented the club at first-team level last season.

He played an important role in the Roms` impressive FA Youth Cup run last season, which saw them knock out Notts County amongst others.

Walters has featured in several first-team pre-season games, and is certainly one for the future at just 18 years of age.

And both Andy Morrell and his assistant Lee Evans have registered as first-team players in case of injury.
