More To Come From Dagenham's Firing Ferrier

Dagenham and Redbridge striker Morgan Ferrier believes he should have more than four goals already this season.

The 22-year-old, who signed from Boreham Wood in the summer, has struck four times in eight games to help the Daggers climb to the top of the Vanarama National League.

John Still's Dagenham head to improving Hartlepool United tomorrow and Ferrier is keen to add to his tally.

The pacey frontman paid tribute to his teammates for his goalscoring exploits, saying: "It's been good for me here, I feel like the way we play as a team, I'm getting a lot of chances and getting a few goals.

"I think that I can add to what I've been doing. I've got 4 in 8 but I feel like I could have had 8 in 8 with the amount of chances I've been getting. It's been really good and really positive.

"It's always good to have good players around you as they push you on. You know every day that you have to be on your game or you could quite possibly not play, or even get in the squad, that's how much depth we've got."

Ferrier might have had another goal last week, but after earning a penalty, his attempted chip from 12 yards struck the crossbar. However, he quickly bounced back and netted to see off Gateshead.

"Last season I won two penalties and dinked them both," he said. "I was talking to the lads before and said that if I won a penalty I was going to dink it. I went for it and it didn't come off. I got a bit of stick but I had to try and get it out of my mind and push on. Luckily I was able to get a goal in the second half."
