Moors Are Up For The Survival Fight, Says Flowers

Assistant manager Tim Flowers reckons Solihull Moors' players have shown they have “the stomach for the fight”.

Moors are currently bottom of the Vanarama National League and eight points adrift of safety after picking up just four wins from their opening 24 fixtures.

They registered an impressive 2-0 victory over in-form Tranmere Rovers in the FA Trophy on Monday night and Flowers has been impressed by his players’ attitudes.

The former England goalkeeper told the club's website: “All we’ve asked of the lads is to be competitive; be in games, stay in games and they excelled against Tranmere.

“We’ve got small building blocks. It’s step-by-step trying to go forward but it’s not easy. We’ve had a great response from the players since we came in so credit to them.

“We move on to Boreham Wood on Saturday. We’ve had them watched and they’re a good side so it’ll be a tough game.

“Our lads have got the stomach for the fight. In every game, they’ve been competitive and had chances so hopefully we can have more of that and see where it takes us.”
