Moke Becomes Latest To Extend His Minstermen Stay

Midfielder Adriano Moke has extended his current deal with York City until the summer of 2019.

The 28-year-old Portuguese-born player is in his second spell at Bootham Crescent, having returned to the club in November 2016.

Former Glenn Hoddle Academy product Moke originally joined the Minstermen in June 2011, helping them regain their Football League status as part of the famous Wembley squad of May 2012.

He has since had spells with Cambridge United, Macclesfield Town, Wrexham and Boreham Wood, until coming back to York and winning a second Buildbase FA Trophy with them in five years last May.

After signing his new deal, Moke told the club`s press officer Ian Appleyard: "I started here when I was 19-20 and I made my debut here. This is a really nice, family club. I am really enjoying it and I love this club.

"At the moment, my number one goal is to help get us out of this league," he added. "We are sticking together and going for it. I can now focus on what's on the pitch, helping my team-mates, and repaying the Gaffer and the rest of the staff."

Moke follows skipper Sean Newton and top scorer Jon Parkin in extending Minstermen deals.
