McMahon Goes As Fleet Confirm Manager's Exit

By Sam Elliott

Ebbsfleet United have announced that manager Daryl McMahon has left the club.

The Irishman departs with the Kent club sitting in 15th place in the National League table.

Off-field difficulties have hampered the club this season but following Saturday's win over Barrow, he spoke about the togetherness to secure a first home win since August.

But the decision has been taken and McMahon will look for a new challenge after the 36-year-old brings to an end three excellent years in charge.

Club chairman and owner Dr Abdulla Al Humaidi said: “Daryl has worked tremendously hard in getting this club into the National League and consolidating us there.

"Naturally, this is a disappointing day for myself and the board in parting ways with someone who has been part of the very fabric of our club for the past three years.

"However, we believe it is the right decision for the club at this point in our development on and off the field. We wish Daryl all the very best in his future career and reiterate our thanks for all he has accomplished in getting the club to its current position.”

During his time in charge Ebbsfleet won promotion to the National League and last season they secure play-off place before falling just short in the semi-finals against eventual winners Tranmere Rovers.
