Killick Hopes FA Cup Win Can Kick Start League Form

Poole Town defeated Salisbury 2-0 on Saturday to reach the FA Cup third qualifying round.

Poole who before this game had lost their last three Vanarama National League South matches, a run that has seen them in the relegation places, writes Tom Feaheny.

After the progressed to the next round, Poole Town boss Tom Killick told the Bournemouth Daily Echo, he understood how important this win was

“To go away from home with morale as low as it was, it was a big victory for us. Let’s not get carried away. We have beaten a side that are two leagues lower than us but everyone knows they have signed players who have played at our level at the very least.

“I think it meant an awful lot to the players, the supporters and everyone connected to the club. It was an unbelievable relief really.”

After this win they will now face Slough Town away from home in the next round, first though they face Chelmsford City on Saturday as they look to gain their third win of the league season.
