In-Form Truro And Hampton Ready To Do Battle Again

By David Richardson

Only last weekend did two of the Vanarama National League South's most unbeaten teams went head-to-head - now they do it again with even bigger stakes on the line.

Hampton and Richmond ended Truro's eight-game winning run with a 1-1 draw, extending their own unbeaten stretch to ten games.

Now they face up again, this time at Hampton, for a place in the FA Cup first round and £12,500 in prize money.

This is the furthest Truro have ever been in the competition while Hampton haven't reached the first round for ten years.

City boss Lee Hodges reckons it's a perfectly poised cup tie: "It will be another closely-fought affair. I have a feeling that it'll be the team who has Lady Luck on their side on the day who will go through.

"We'll go there with nothing to lose. It's a game that we are looking forward to and we've worked hard in our preparation this week to give ourselves the best possible chance of winning the game.

"Both teams know a bit about each other now and both teams will also fancy their chances of making progress. It was evenly-matched last weekend and it's sure to be a similar story on Saturday."
