By Steve Whitney

New North Ferriby United owner Jamie Waltham has made a statement of intent with his sacking of manager Steve Housham and assistant-manager Darryn Stamp.

Waltham took over ownership of a club he played for over a number of years, as well as several other non-League clubs in the Humberside area earlier this week.

An experienced Manager and also a former player, Housham has played at Scunthorpe United, Barrow and Brigg Town with a loan spell at Gainsborough Trinity.

Whilst at Scunthorpe in 1999 he was involved in the play-off final at Wembley, and in 2003 he played for and won the FA Vase with Brigg Town.

His previous management posts were at Brigg and Gainsborough Trinity.

Waltham is in negotiations with potential replacements for Housham and Stamp, but he will take charge of the team for tomorrow’s crucial Buildbase FA Trophy tie at Nuneaton Town.

Waltham and the club have thanked Housham and Stamp for their work over the last eighteen months and have wished them well for the future.
