Heath: Pre-Season Work Rate Pleasing To See

Town defeated League One side Rochdale on Tuesday with Billy Heath saying the performance impressed him

The Shaymen return to the Vanarama National League after a season away, with Billy Heath looking forward to the challenge, writes Tom Feaheny.

Second-half goals from Matty Kosylo and Tom Denton ensured the side gained victory.

Heath changed his formation for this game at the start and he felt it worked as he told the Halifax Courier.

“It was a new system, 3-5-2, but we wanted to have a look at it. I thought, against good opposition, the boys were magnificent.

“It was a good opportunity to look at it in case we need to look at it. Second-half they also did really well, back in our normal formation."

Heath was also encouraged with the fitness levels his team showed during the game, with it just being over two weeks until the season gets underway.

“All the players from minute one to minute 90 were outstanding. I thought we looked sharp, we looked as if our fitness levels were coming on but most importantly, I thought everybody had a good game. “I can’t think of one player that was off it. And that’s an encouraging sign."
