Harrold Boost For A Club That Need It Most

Leyton Orient hope targetman Matt Harrold can will return to lead the line at Wrexham this afternoon.

The East Londoners are desperate for victory as the strugglers on Tuesday moved too close to comfort to the bottom four.

Local boy Harrold hasn’t played since the defeat to Tranmere Rovers live on BT Sport at the start of October.

His return from injury at the Racecourse ground today is just what the doctor ordered for manager Steve Davis, who knows this is one of the most challenging fixtures possible to end their nightmare run of results.

“We are hoping Matt will be back for Wrexham,” said Davis ahead of the trip to north Wales.

“Games like Tuesday when we lost to Gateshead we need someone up there and we don’t have that big target man because Matt’s just never been fit.

“He came having played 90 minutes once and we pushed him and he broke down and we brought him back quickly and he broke down again, so he scored at Tranmere, but broke down after,” Davis told the East London Advertiser.

“We felt he needed three weeks and we’ve tried to give him that even though we could have done with him against Gateshead.”
