Harrogate Happy As The Play-Off Gap Keeps Getting Bigger

Simon Weaver believes his team’s spirit is enough to keep Harrogate Town in the promotion mix.

His side came back from 2-0 down to snatch a plucky draw at in-form Barrow on Saturday.

That kept them sixth - and a five point gap has opened up between them and the other side of the play-off places.

Harrogate are looking for a second promotion in a row having won the National League North Promotion Final last May.

They have been able to meet the standard in their first year up and Weaver thinks there’s a lot to be said for their togetherness.

“We had to show a response in the second half and we did,” he said.

“We’re at the time in the season where every point you earn could make all the difference - we’ve had to show a lot of spirit to get something but we have plenty of that.

“We were below par in the first half but after half-time we were superb and we got that reaction I was looking forward.

“We could have even gone on to win it but we have to be happy with the response.”

Harrogate’s next game is Wednesday’s live BT Sport game with Salford City.
