Harris: We Needed That First Win

Gloucester City gained their first three points of the season thanks to a late Joe Hanks strike against Hemel Hempstead Town.

Tim Harris says their first victory of the campaign was much needed as they moved to four points for the season, writes Tom Feaheny.

Speaking to the club's website Harris spoke about the importance of the result.

"Everyone at the club needed this win, we looked a threat during the second-half, their keeper had to make some saves, I think it would have been a bit of an injustice if we hadn't been able to get the win."

Keeper Tom Hadler joined the side on loan from Gillingham a day before the win, and Harris was full of praise for him.

"We know how important it is not to concede, I think he will be a very good goalkeeper, he will have a great professional career, he looked assured and calm under pressure, although he didn't have much to do, he looked assured."

They remain second bottom in the table but Harris believes this next week can provide a good base for them going forward.

"We have not had a good start, we have played well in patches, we now need to find some consitancy, we can have a good week and get ready for that Hungerford game, we know if we get the win then we will be climbing the table."
