Harding Undecided About Whitehawk Job

Caretaker manager Dan Harding says he hasn't had a moment to think about applying for the vacant Whitehawk job following a defeat in his first game in charge.

The Hawks are yet to win a game this season and sit bottom of the Vanarama National League South with two points.

Jimmy Dack resigned as Whitehawk's manager last week so senior player Dan Harding took the reins.

The former Southampton defender saw his side gain a point against Poole Town on Saturday but was unable to prevent their poor form last night, suffering a 4-0 hammering at home to Dartford.

Speaking afterwards about his interest in the role, he said: "I've not had two minutes to think about it, if I'm honest. I decided, with the owners, that I would help them out and that's what I'm going to do to the best of my ability and we'll see where we go from there.

"I've come in and we've only had the one training session. We'll have another one on Thursday but it is difficult to get the information onto the pitch in such a short space of time.

"I was helping on the coaching side at the beginning of the season as well as playing.

"It's been a learning curve, something that, whatever happens, I will always take with me."
