Gill: Don’t Forget What A Great Season It’s Been

Bath City manager Jerry Gill says he is hurting for his players.

The Romans suffered National League South Eliminator heartache at the hands of Wealdstone on Wednesday night.

They went down 3-1 to the Stones as Bath’s home form deserted them at exactly the wrong time.

Gill is nevertheless proud of what his players have produced this season.

He feels that the club have progressed in a big way - even if he knows words of comfort may fall on deaf ears the day after the tough-to-take defeat.

“I’m so upset for the players, deeply upset,” he said.

“I’m hurting for them and I’m hurting for the supporters. They have all been fantastic this year.

“Losing in the play-offs is never easy to accept but once the dust settles we will recognise what a good season it has been.

“It’s the first time in a long time that we have reached the play-offs and that’s an achievement.

“There are a lot of emotions running though bodies - it’s not easy for anyone to take.”
