Garrard: Our Mistakes Were Punished

Boreham Wood manager Luke Garrard was pleased with his side's performance but knows how ruthless the league is after they lost 2-1 to Dag & Red

Boreham Wood conceded early and eventually lost the match 2-1 to John Still's side, writes Tom Feaheny.

After the defeat Luke Garrard told the club's website, he knows how tough this league is and that any mistake will be taken advantage of.

"If you make mistake you are punished, the two goals we conceded, I just felt we could have done a little bit more.

"It was frustrating to have given a team like Dag & Red the lead after just five minutes."

The manager was pleased though with how his side played especially in the last 45 minutes.

"I thought the second half performance warranted a point, we put out what I asked for

"The lads who came in did fantastic, we had two lads ruled out a day before the game, the fans stayed behind to clap them off, I know we put in a good performance during that second half."

They next face Solihull Moors with Garrard believing they can take positives from their loss going into the match.

"We go into Saturday now, I think if we perform like we did in the second half then we can get something, if they implement what we are asking of them, we know we have quality across the board."
