Garrard: Boreham Wood Have Their Play-Off Aims Set

Boreham Wood boss Luke Garrard says his side know what finishing second or third in the league would mean to the club.

After defeating Wrexham away from home that lifted them to third in the Vanarama National League table, writes Tom Feaheny.

Bruno Andrade got a goal with ten minutes gone from the spot, that helped the team gain victory against another side going for promotion.

"We know how important finishing second or third would mean to us, you then get a one-off game at home," Garrard told the club's website.

"We would fancy ourselves against anyone playing them at home."

Looking at the result at Wrexham Garrard says they can use this performance going forward.

"I thought we won the game in the first 30-35 minutes, the fast start, the energy helped the win, the tempo, we put a great shift in.

"It is up there as a very good away performance for the side, we knew the beginning of the match, with our fitness levels was key."

Garrard was also full of praise for his attacking players and how they led the line.

"The pace and power of the forwards was what I wanted, I questioned them before the match and they delivered."

With just one loss in 11 games now for the side, Garrard says this good run and recent result is something they can use going forward.

"To come on the road and beat a team who haven't lost in 2018 before today, that is a result we can use to continue our momentum, with two clean sheets in the past few days as well."
