Gardiner: Different Tests Key To Pre-Season

Kidderminster Harriers Head of Coaching has praised the attitude of the side after a busy week saw them play a variety of opposition.

Kidderminster Harriers defeated Stourport Swifts 8-0, after games against Derby County and Aston Villa.

Matt Gardiner told the club's website, he was pleased to see the emphatic win.

“It’s good to always get the forwards on the score sheet and there were some other contributions as well. With all of the games we look at it from the conditioning point of view, that’s the main reason for pre-season.

“But also we look at what we try to get from games from a tactical and technical point of view; we look at the players who’re signed on and the players who are trying to earn a contract.

Despite being defeated by the Championship opponents twice last week, Gardiner believes those tests will help the squad going into the season.

“Tuesday and Wednesday were good for different reasons. You learn a lot about people against tough opposition, but equally whoever you play the attitude had to be right as well, and it was.
