Yates Thinks The Best Is Yet To Come For Kidderminster

Mark Yates made a winning start on his Kidderminster second coming - and vowed the team will get even better.

A convincing 4-1 victory over Chester was the perfect way to celebrate his return after ten years away.

The three points were even more special as it means Harriers put one over a rival for the play-offs.

And if his comments after the game are anything to go by, new manager Yates feels fans could be about to enjoy matches even more.

“It was great to get back out there on the grass. It’s what I think I do best,” Yates told the National League’s Oli Osborn.

“I have been twiddling my thumbs for for the past few months so this suits me perfectly.

“I think we were good, we deserved that win. We’re only going to get better hopefully.

“We responded superbly when Chester got their goal with an aid of a deflection.

“We have just start a 14-game season and we need to take it week-by-week and just work hard every day.

“We’ve got good players and I have walked into a good group,” he added.

“We train every day and we need to put that to full use over the next few months and see where it takes us.

“For now we’ve not got to worry about if we are in the play-offs or not. The only thing we need to worry about is being in there on that final day of the season.”
