What's In Store In The National League North On Saturday?

By Sam Elliott

Time is ticking on in the National League North and with four games to go there’s still so much to sort out.

The title race which won’t simmer down continues to come to the boil.

Stockport County went back on top thanks to their six-goal salvo at Chester in midweek - not they want to stay there.

To do that, they need to get the better of a Blyth Spartans side who are bang in form, winning their last three they are very much back in the hunt for the play-offs.

At least they have home advantage. Chorley, just a point behind in second, got to Altrincham who have scored eight times in a week.

AFC Telford have kept a hold of seventh place but they know a home win over Curzon Ashton is required with the sides behind them slapping away at their heels.

Kidderminster are one of them, but if they’re to keep up their push they know there needs to be a victim.

FC United could be all-but down if Harriers come away from Broadhurst Park with a win

That’s because in the big game down the bottom Guiseley face Ashton United - and Lions’ joint boss Marcus Bignot says it’s their most important game of the season.

Spennymoor can effectively seal a play-off place if they win at home to Brackley Town in the battle for third place and home advantage in the play-offs.

Chester were pulled apart by Stockport on Tuesday but they can’t be totally discounted from the top seven race. York City are the visitors as they look to put things right.

Bradford PA face already down Nuneaton as Southport and Hereford - two sides who many expected a promotion push from - meet at Haig Avenue.

The same may be said of Darlington, they go to Boston United looking to finish strongly while Leamington play Alfreton.
