What's In Store In The National League North On Saturday?

By Tom Scott

As the FA Cup excitement dies down for another year, all attention turns back to the league for most of our sides.

We're almost halfway through the season and tensions are rising at both ends of the table.

Bradford (Park Avenue) might be sitting top of the table but that won't deter Southport who have been in superb form of late.

Two sides that might look to take advantage of a slip-up by the Avenue will be Altrincham and AFC Telford United.

Alty have looked lethal of late at home and will fancy their chances of moving into an automatic promotion place.

Craig Elliott has called for his Boston United side to replicate their away form at home.

York City
won't be rolling over as they look to recapture their earlier form under Sam Collins.

Chester are looking to stay in touch with the top two after some less than perfect recent form.

A trip to Stockport County will be a big challenge as the Hatters look to get back to winning ways in the league.

Two new regimes get underway this weekend at Nuneaton Borough and Curzon Ashton.

The Boro travel to Darlington with every chance of getting a win, Curzon Ashton start life without John Flanagan at FC United of Manchester.

Chorley's focus will be solely on the league after their cup exits in the last couple of weeks.

They travel to an in-form Leamington side looking to kick start their title tilt.

Brackley have been flying of late and could overtake Kidderminster Harriers with a win at Aggbrough.

The early season promise seems to have died down for Guiseley and they face Hereford whose fortunes could be getting better after their first win in a long time.

The Bulls will be hoping it won't be a flash in the pan and look to build under Marc Richards.

Alun Armstrong has turned Blyth Spartans' season around and they're in fine fettle.

They face strugglers Ashton United who are desperate for a win.

Elsewhere, Alfreton Town host Spennymoor Town after their win at Ashton United last weekend.
