Watson Wants To Go All The Way In Special FA Trophy Competition

By Tom Feaheny

Gateshead boss Steve Watson says his side are excited by the challenge of going to Leyton Orient as they look to go a step closer to the final at Wembley.

A victory tomorrow would see the side in the semi-finals of the competition and just two games from a date at Wembley stadium, writes Tom Feaheny.

"It is going to be a tough game, it is one we are really looking forward to," Watson told the club's website.

"The group is excited, we are not too far off Wembley but of course all our focus is on this match against an Orient side who have picked up some impressive results."

"It is a great competition, we want to go all the way, it is a special one for us all, this is our FA Cup, a chance to go to Wembley, we want to get a step nearer."

In mid-week they gained a point against Barrow this was despite being down to ten men after 55 minutes when Jamal Fyfield was sent off and the side were a goal down, it looked like the Heed would be losing this match but Jordan Preston scored a timely equalise.

That draw means the Heed have lost just once in eleven away matches in all competitions.

"We started slowly and a little bit nervous, they got a penalty, second-half we played brilliantly and went for it.

"To be down to ten men and put in that level of performance has to be something I applaud, this is another display we need to build on and we can do that at Orient."
