Unconcerned McDonald Waiting For Injuries To Heal

By David Richardson

Liam McDonald says he's not worried about Solihull Moors' current form after yesterday's 2-1 defeat at Woking as he knows there are plenty of players to return from injury.

Moors were beaten at the Cards' Laithwaite Community Stadium last night - watch match highlights here.

It was their seventh defeat of the season, leaving them with the same number of points on the board after ten matches.

But manager McDonald isn't concerned with his side's form at the moment after witnessing a much-improved second half performance despite fielding a depleted team.

"I'm gutted for the players because they worked really hard," he said. "We deserved something out of the game, I thought we dominated the second half. It's becoming a bit of a theme at the minute where we're better second half than we are in the first.

"We have a game plan to stick to but we can be more aggressive in our approach. The players are disappointed because of how well we played at times and the chances we created. At the minute we're not putting them away and that's hurting us.

"For me, I'm not worried. Seeing that performance against a good Woking side, to do what we did and make it hard for them. They've scored two goals which we're disappointed with defensively."

He continued: "There's lots of players to come back and help. That's no disrespect to the players have gone out there but to miss so many is hard on them. It's not me making an excuse, the players know it's hard.

"To go out and play with eight missing, a lot of teams wouldn't even compete at this level. It's only a matter of time until things click into gear and we have a full squad and winning football matches."
