Sick Still Is Given The Perfect Tonic At The Racecourse

Unwell Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still received the perfect get well soon message on Saturday.

The Daggers great, 67, stayed at home on doctors’ orders and was forced to miss the club’s trip to Wrexham.

Assistant Darren Currie took charge in north Wales and he had secure some good news for the legendary boss.

The 2-1 win put a real dent in Wrexham’s promotion push and they now face a battle to make the play-offs.

Dagenham meanwhile remain in the top half and that’s where Currie wants them to stay.

“We took home the points for the manager,” said Currie, “It was a valuable win for us.

“It’s not nice not having him here but we are some happy to give him something to raise a smile. He’s unwell so I’m sure this will aid the recovery.

“We played well and picked up a fantastic three points at one of the most difficult grounds to win at.

“We came from behind to win and it shows the spirit is there.

“Now we’ve got to focus on picking up a good result at Bromley, who are just above us in the table, on Tuesday night.”
