Saunders Wants Maidstone To Get Going Again

Jay Saunders believes a good run of results is waiting for Maidstone United.

The team who are 13th in the Vanarama National League table have drawn four of their last five league matches, last weekend they won in the FA Trophy and he believes that could be the start of a new run, writes Tom Feaheny.

"We've had some bit of bad luck, we've worked hard though and now we want this win to start a good run," Saunders told the club's website.

"I was pleased last time with how we played, they scored a good goal then we just had to see it out and leave with the victory."

"I'm quite pleased with where we are, we will keep working hard and aiming to pick up points."

Maidstone saw Joe Pigott leave this week for AFC Wimbledon and Saunders praised his ex forward.

"With Joe we had interest from League One and League Two clubs, he was genuinely torn, he has all the ability and deserves the move, his attitude is first class, we are all very happy for him."
