Same Old Problems For Frustrated Pools Boss Harrison

Hartlepool United were giving out late Christmas presents at Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday, much to the frustration of boss Craig Harrison.

Michael Woods scored twice for Pools but they were well beaten at Victoria Road, going down 4-2 to John Still’s promotion chasers.

Harrison’s side are now 17th in the National League table and looking over their shoulders at the bottom four following a run of one win in ten League games.

Pools will need to improve if they are to get back on the winning trail and Harrison was especially critical of his side’s defending.

“I think it’s beginning to sound like a broken record now,” the manager told Pools PlayerHD.

“We created a lot of chances, certainly in the second half but we’ve conceded four goals and you’re not going to be winning many football matches if you’re conceding that many goals.

“It doesn’t matter who you are, you simply can’t give away goals like that – they’re all terrible goals that we’ve gifted to them and that’s no disrespect to Dagenham. We were our own biggest downfall today.”
