Pools Release Midfielder To Pursue American Chance

Midfielder Jack Blackford has been released from his contract by Hartlepool United by mutual consent.

The 19-year-old has left Victoria Park with immediate effect and is set to travel to America to pursue an opportunity to further his career there.

Hartlepool-born Blackford has been on the books at Pools since he was just 9 and signed professional terms with the club in April 2016, 24 hours after making his senior debut against York City.

However, the winger only made one further first-team appearance – as a substitute in the clash with Barnet towards the end of last season – and it’s now been mutually agreed that he will be released.

Blackford told the club`s official website: “I would like to thank the club because it’s been a big part of my life since I was nine-years-old.

“I am grateful for everything the Club has done for me and I appreciate all the hard work that has been put in by the staff and players over the years”.
