Penney: It Is Starting To Click For Minstermen

Sporting Director Dave Penney says their win at Martin Gray's old side Darlington was another example of the progress they are making.

York made it three wins in a row in the league for the first time since 2014 after a 2-1 victory at Darlington, writes Tom Feaheny.

Goals from Sean Newton and another from Jon Parkin in the second-half ensure City are now eighth in the Vanarama National League North table.

"With what goes what was on the line, we didn't want to get beat, there wasn't much in it early on," Penney told BBC Radio York.

"It is clicking with the players what Martin wants, to pass it, we have momentum and we have to take it on again.

"The two quick goals helped us, we could have scored another later on then we're not having to hang on at the end.

"The atmosphere was good, we enjoyed it and now the aim is simple to make it four in a row."
