National League's Thirteen Honoured By The Three Lions

By Sam Elliott

Paul Fairclough has named a 16-man squad for England C’s next adventure - with 13 players picked from the National League.

The Three Lions travel to Tallinn to face Estonia under-23s on Wednesday June 5.

It’s a friendly game and the manager has picked many first-time caps for the match in around a month’s time.

The teams faced each other at Leyton Orient last year, Alfie Pavey’s goal securing a 1-0 win for England.

There is a call-up for Wealdstone’s Connor Stevens following an impressive end to the season. Also in are Chesterfield’s Joe Rowley and Gateshead pair Jon Mellish and Tom White.

Goalkeepers Ryan Huddart, from Boreham Wood, and Braintree’s Ben Killip will fight it out for a place between the posts.

Goalkeepers:
Ryan Huddart (Boreham Wood) Ben Killip (Braintree Town)

Defenders:
Jon Mellish (Gateshead) Connor Stevens (Wealdstone) Alex Brown (Buxton) Mitchell Dickenson (Hythe Town) Luke Trotman (Darlington)
